Have you ever wanted to make your own TAS but you couldn't find out how to? I've made an easy tutorial!
Written instructions.
1. Go to here and click the download tab. Download the latest version of Dolphin depending on your system type. NOTE: If you're having problems with the 64-bit, just download the 32-bit. I've had some problems and don't know how to fix it.
2.Save the file and extract all the files to a folder on your desktop. Try to launch Dolphin. If it pops up with an error, then go to google and type in vcomp100.dll and in another tab go to google again and type in XINPUT1_3.dll. Find the result from DLL-files.com and scroll down and click Download Zip-file. Extract the .dll files and put them in the same folder as Dolphin.
4. Once your ISO is done downloading, launch Dolphin. Go to config -> Paths -> Add and select the folder that your ISO is in. Close out.
5. To emulate the controls, click GCPad and program the controls on your keyboard. If you have a USB Gamepad, click the dropdown box on the upper left of the GCPad screen and select the USBGamepad and then select the controls.
6. On the main screen, click config and enable cheats. Then exit out and right click on the ISO on the main screen. Click properties and click Gecko Codes. Click download codes and go to edit config. Remove the codes you don't want, leaving only the codes you do. Save and exit the file. Check off the box next to which codes you want. Also you can get TAS Code here.
7. Launch MKWii. Savestating involves pressing the F keys to load and save checkpoints throughout the game. To save a state, press SHIFT+F1,SHIFT+F2 all the way up to SHIFT+F8. To load a state, press F1-F8. SHIFT+F1 saves the current spot in slot 1 and it can be reloaded by pressing F1 (it's the same button pressing but without the shift key.) That goes for the rest of the savestates. You can also change the savestate hotkeys if you're F keys have functions. Go to options->hotkey setting->savestates and change the loading and saving to what you wish.
Presto, you can TAS!

EDIT: It's fixed now.

You might want to add that you can change the save state hot keys from Shift + F1/2/3/etc. I've changed them to Q, W, E, R, T, Y, F, G, K, L, Z, X, C, V, B, N. It might solve some problems people might have if the F keys actually have a function and won't save or load states (like mine did)

I may have to take this into consideration :O I remember trying to use slowdown codes for fun, but it was slowed down way too much.

Nice Tutorial, but isn't it illegal to share iSO's even though everyone does it on Skype, out on a forum, it may not be the safest...

Hacking MKWii is technically illegal anyway, so sharing iSO's aren't much worse.

It's basically the same as Live Replay, except you can deactivate copying the ghost at any time.

Wow very helpful. I was expecting to see something like: Select the ghost you want and choose Challenge Ghost Data and while the screen is black press Home. Voila the player will race for himslef and when you want to change something press Home again and keep racing.
